In the beginning of the Constitution, above the Preamble, the following shall be inserted, namely— “BISMILLA-ARRAHMAN-ARRAHIM (In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)” 5th Amendment 7th Amendment The State religion of the Republic is Islam, but other religions may be practised in peace and harmony in the Republic 8th Amendment 13th Amendment 14th Amendment The people of Bangladesh shall be known as Bangalees as a nation and the citizens of The State religion of the Republic is Islam, but the state shall ensure equal status and equal right in the practice of the Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and other religions The citizenship of Bangladesh shall be determined and regulated by law.
