58 The trial of the offenders of the crimes against humanity, genocide, war crimes etc. by the International Crimes Tribunal is the best example to show that the sacrifice of the martyrs is not over yet. Our independence will be meaningful when we can achieve ‘the rule of law, fundamental human rights and freedom, equality and justice, political, economic and social’ equality for all citizens after eliminating those who did not believe in our historic struggle for national liberation and also those who wanted to mutilate our history of national struggle. This is what our preamble stands for and every time we interpret it, we must keep ourselves alert about the intrinsic link between the spirit of our historic struggle for national liberation and the scheme of our constitution which embody that spirit. The characteristic feature of an undeveloped country is the stark reality between its economic and social state and the minimum aspirations of a midtwentieth century State modelled upon the values and objectives of the developed countries of the west.
