IFES Integrating conflict analysis, prevention, management and resolution at all points of electoral cycle programming allows for a thematic approach to solutions to conflict, rather than one that is sector-based. This is a promising roadmap for streamlining conflict sensibilities with election assistance. This approach also allows for a more complementary implementation of what are otherwise separated as “hard” and “soft” approaches to security. All of this contributes toward increased effectiveness of election assistance as well as conflict management and transformation efforts. 17
